Info/description:
BaseCalc is a free pocket-sized stereo base calculator. A small calculator that enables the stereophotographer to compute, on the field, the appropriate stereo base. BaseCalc will run on Windows Mobile / Pocket PC devices (with .Net Framework 1.1 or better installed) and will also work on a regular PC with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista. Based on Bercovitz formula to compute one of the following stereo variables (ie give a value to four variables and BaseCalc will compute the missing one): * Base: stereo base, spacing between the lenses or between the two successive positions of a single camera (cha-cha mode). * MAOFD: Maximum Acceptable On Film Deviation, related to the highest confortable parallax angle, for 35mm film the value is generally between 1.2 and 1.5 mm. * Focal Length: camera's focal length (a multiplier value can be selected to compensate for the smaller focal lengths used on digital cameras). * dMin: distance of the nearest object (foreground distance). * dMax: distance of the farthest object (background distance).
Installation: Extract the file from the zip archive and place them in a new folder created on the PocketPC. For more ease of use, one can create a shortcut to the application in the "Start" menu. Update Description: v1.1 (Feb-08): - Added focal length multiplier. v1.0 (Dec-05): - First public version.
