Info/description:

1) The MR-Log, Have you ever typed in a calculation only to think the answer looked wrong? So you type it all again; then if those answers are different you type in a third time to see which one is right. At last that nonsense stops! Just look at the MR-Log, which shows what happened in spread sheet form. Youll quickly see a mistake and you can even re-enter a number you got wrong.

- The Log

Labels in the left column have a value and a description in the right column. Tap the label to re-enter the number. Tap the right number to bring it where the arrow is pointing. Diagram (C) shows the effect of tapping the clean button. Diagram (D) show re-entering a value and recalculation.

- Dig (C)

Cleaning old information away.
When you click of the Clean icon the mini spreadsheet is analysed and entries not involved in producing the number on the calculator display are removed.

- Dig (D)

Changing Values Re-Calculating.
By tapping on a label you are invited to change its value. You can change base when entering (Real, Dec, Hex). When you enter each value the calculator updates everything.
If the value is currently on the display it changes to.

- Result J

Use it as a calculator it makes a spreadsheet
If you have a complex calculation. For example a graphic in 888 RGB and you want 565. Once youve done the shifts once, you need only change the 3 input values. Useful for petrol to mile allowances. Spreadsheet without effort.

2) Scientific Data Constants, from the speed of light to how many molecules in a gas to sizes and forces of atomic particles. An incredible 220 fundamental constants that save you flicking through textbooks. A simple search engine is provided so it is all on screen fully explained even gives you accuracy margins.

- Search

A simple keyboard to tap the name in and the search engine sorts all data constants. The keyboard has a blue X for delete. The one you want (should be) topping the list. Simply tap on it see Dig (A). If you cant remember the name use the unit search.

- Dig (A)

Entering the Scientific Constant.
Tapping on the number just once youll see the info clearly. Including the accuracy margin of the value for information purposes. Hit the use button to enter the value at the arrow. Budge the arrow by tapping to move to the other input line.

-Dig (B)

Searching by Units.
18 units, Hz hertz, J Joules, eV electron Volts, m meter, F Faraday, Kg Kilo, C charge, T Tesla, Eh Hartree, s second, K Kelvin, u atomic mass, N Newton, mol mole, A Ampere, misc anything else, ohm ohm and V Volts.

3) Head Up Memory, The large button and clear display of Cartoon Calc leaves a lot of space. Above the display is a memory in view. You use it with arrows by clicking on the ball of the arrow.

- HUD

Once used you wont go back.
You have two main HUD buttons one is memory in the other is memory plus. These arrows appear if anything is on the top line. And are cleared if the value is 0 when you clear. You also have old style memory.

* Example of Easy% to show manipulation.

This example shows how you can use HUD memory to remember a part of a calculation. Pressing add and typing a percentage will force the Easy% button to appear.
Use it to get to next picture!

* Swapping Numbers Top to Bottom

Easy% has done its work. I now have a sales tax for UK on 1548.17. If I just press equals I get the VAT included, instead I want to record it in memory.
Swap arrows to get to next picture.

* Head-Up

Ive swapped and stored with the arrows. I can now press equals to get this value. Swapping is very useful because everything is in plain sight where errors are seen not forgotten.

4) Programmers Stuff, If you dont know what hexadecimal is or binary and octal or integer decimal, ignore this section.

- Base

How to change to base mode.
In sci-calc choose the button-marked base. Actual bases are selected from the label just under the display. When clicked this cycles through Hex, Dec, Bin and Oct. Binary is full 32-bits and described below.

- Binary

32 binary bits.
Tapping on each bit turns it on and off. If you are doing a lot of binary: I think you should turn the skin off as most skins clash with the faint graphics for the cells.

5) Display Views, I often ignore modes like Sci, Eng and Fix in other calculators because they waste my time in menus. All you need do is click on the element under the screen.

- Display

One touch view changing.
Sci mode uses arrows to specify how many figures. Fix specifies place after a decimal point. Eng standardises the number to a factor of 1000 and allows you to shift it.

- Frac

Fractions vulgar and common
Although this is simply a viewing option you can simply enter fractions as 34 divided by 65 to get 34/65. The denominator ranges 1-99 and is done by best fit. These allow you to flip in and out of the fraction mode.,br>

- Unit

Working in Feet Inches or anything else
Unit is a fundamental part of Cartoon Calc. It allows the part after the decimal point to be in a unit and the number is added in that unit. In Unit 12, sixteen feet 9 inches is entered 16 press the decimal point 9. 16.1 is value 16 1.

6) Last but not least, RPN and The Manual.

- RPN

Cartoon Calc offers RPN entry. Input here means numbers are entered in a stack and operations pick items off the stack and place them back on it. Unseen stack items are counted next to the RPN logo. Turning it on is simple and lasts till you change it. Press Down on the D-Pad, then go to options and find the page and tick the RPN box.

- Manual

You dont need this guide.
There is a 26-page hypertext linked manual full of tips. Use down on the D-Pad to get the menu, choose Manual.

Skins are free for your free Calculator.
