GMobileSync 1.1
Freeware
Latest update : Dec 14, 2006
File Size: 306 KB
Download: available

Min Requirements:

Windows Mobile 5.0

.NET CF v2.0

Author: Eric Willis
Info/description:

GMobileSync allows you to remotely synchronize Google Calendar events to your Windows Mobile 5.0 device using its local internet connection.

Features:

- Sync Google Calendar events to PocketOutlook without ActiveSync.

- Choose a range of days to sync based on today's date.

- Automatically exit GMobileSync when complete, for fast synchronizations.

- Set your local Timezone Offset.

- Remove all Google Calendar events from PocketOutlook without disturbing any manually entered events.

- GMobileSync is a threaded application so you can see it working and not slow down your Mobile device during a synchronization.

Important Notes:

- You do not need ActiveSync to use GMobileSync.

- You do not need Outlook installed on your desktop to use GMobileSync.

- GMobileSync uses your mobile internet connection, so you should have a data package from your cell phone provider (unless you’re using WIFI).

- GMobileSync is a one-way synchronization between Google Calendar and PocketOutlook. Any changes made in PocketOutlook will not be reflected in Google Calendar (yet).

- You will need the latest version of the .NET 2.0 Compact Framework to run GMobileSync.

Don't forget that you must have the .NET 2.0 Compact Framework installed on your Mobile 5.0 device to use GMobileSync. There are different versions of the Framework for SmartPhones and Windows CE. If you have questions about installation, please reference the GMobileSync Installation Guide.

Update Description:

v1.1:

New Features:

- Location data from Google Calendar is now stored in PocketOutlook. Google Calendar supports multiple locations while PocketOutlook only supports one. All locations get concatenated into a single field separated by commas.

- Having friends has never been so cool. All participants (guests) on Google Calendar events are invited to the event in PocketOutlook as well. Each guest has her name and email address added to the PocketOutlook event.

- A shortcut to GMobileSync is now added under the Start Menu for easy access.

Bug Fixes:

- Removed the calendar.ico file that came with the original installer and saved some space. It turns out that the icon is embedded into the application and not needed separately.
