AXGate for Pocket PC 2003 (Windows Mobile 2003) solves a problem known for many developers. It is often convenient to write parts of a bigger product or small applications as HTML pages. They can be in the local file system or even online if a more complex solution is the goal. However to do something of use access to the OS features is required - file access, registry access, data base and so on.

On the desktop there are many alternatives and even without them one can count on the security manager and leave the user the decision to allow the page to proceed with unsafe components. On Pocket IE there is no way to use unsafe ActiveX.

AXGate overcomes this in a way a bit different from the desktop, but we believe even more convenient. The access to the components is controlled by profiles listing the allowed components. The profiles support also protocol and URL restrictions which can play the same role the security zones play for the desktop IE.

For convenience the component is packed with more than 30 freeware ActiveX that cover almost everything except data base access (which can be obtained through ADO CE).
