ActiveSync and Meeting Maker

Author: A. Gandhi
Email: vargon@vargon.com
Info/description:

Description:
Allows you to view your Meeting Maker calendar on your PocketPC. You will need ActiveSync and Meeting Maker installed on the computer you synchronize with. File synchronization must be enabled. Compatible with Windows CE 3.0 for PocketPC, PocketPC 2002, and Windows Mobile 2003.

Installation
Simply copy the MMSync.exe file to your PocketPC using Explorer. Or if you have connectivity from your PocketPC, just download the file directly to your device. I recommend storing the executable in \Windows\Start Menu on your PocketPC so you can run it easily from there. Alternatively, you could put it somewhere else and just create a shortcut on your Start menu.

Use
Go to Meeting Maker, and select Export from the File menu. Make sure the Calendar checkbox is selected. Set the date range to whatever you desire, or accept the defaults. From the Type of export dropdown, select Meeting Maker Text Export. Click OK.

When prompted to save the file, you must save it to your PocketPC My Documents directory. The file should have a .txt extension. For the purposes of this exercise, we will assume you named it mm.txt. The goal here is for the exported text file to end up somewhere in \My Documents on your PocketPC device.

Once the mm.txt file has synchronized to your device, you can run MMSync on your PocketPC. Simply click it. When the MMSync UI appears, you can use the Browse button to locate the file you saved to your device. For example, \My Documents\mm.txt. Once you've selected the file, ensure that your Date Format is correct, then click the Import Now button to load all of your calendar appointments into your Pocket Outlook calendar. All appointments are loaded with a category of MMSyncCE. This ensures that they are identifiably separate from your other appointments. Now that you've imported your appointments, you can click Close to close MMSync.

Other things you can do:
To delete any appointments you previously synced without loading new ones, you can click the Delete Previously Synced Entries button.
You do not need to delete appointments before importing new ones. Old appointments are always automatically deleted before new ones are loaded.
Once you get tired of clicking Import Now and Close every day, try checking the Import Automatically on Launch box. Entries will be automatically imported when you launch MMSync. Now you don't have to hit Import Now anymore.
If you still don't want to have to hit Close every day, check the Automatically Close After Import checkbox. One warning, however. Once this box is selected, when you launch MMSync, it will automatically import, then close, making it very hard to disable this option. If you wish to disable the option, the best thing to do is to delete your mm.txt file which will cause an error when MMSync is launched which will cause it not to close automatically.
