I-Scan Handheld from Tekscan |
|
I-Scan Handheld is a low cost, extremely portable, pressure mapping system. The system consists of a Pocket PC (PDA) running I-Scan Handheld software, sensor interface and scanning electronics (sensor handle), and a Tekscan tactile sensor. The system enables you to view and capture pressure data on the Pocket PC (PDA) using our patented, ultra-thin sensors. Pressure data can be captured between almost any two surfaces.
I-Scan Handheld can be used in virtually any environment to measure interface pressures. Some examples of applications where the system can be used include:
- helping machine maintenance technicians take measurements and adjust machinery
- helping field service personnel to set up printing machines and rollers
- allowing medical professionals to monitor "at risk" areas of the body for excessive interface pressure during and after surgery
- enabling clinicians to adjust burn garments
- enabling surgeons to balance the pressure distribution on implants during surgery
- providing automobile assembly technicians with a tool to adjust door and window closure forces
Since the data is fully compatible with an I-Scan system, after capturing data in the field the user can transfer the data to HEADquarters for more thorough analysis. All I-Scan PC files are compatible with I-Scan Handheld software. Additional I-Scan functions such as sensor calibration and data analysis can be performed with I-Scan PC software.
