TransMedia Releases Glide 2.0
TransMedia will unveil the second-generation Glide platform. Glide is a hybrid synchronized local, online, and mobile desktop that is device, network, platform, and format neutral and fully integrated to provide access from any one Glide application to another. The Glide Operating System is rights and identity based, designed to create a secure personal and social environment to protect content and the right to privacy.

The new Glide features a redesigned user interface, increased user storage capacity, and a streamlined registration process. TransMedia has also developed proprietary software designed to simplify the way Glide handles and distributes multiple complex tasks. New additions to the Glide application suite include: an Online Photo Editor and Print Shop; Glide Presenter beta, where users can create multimedia presentations of any size and securely share with an unlimited number of people with a complex hierarchy of permissions. Users can grant view-only, download, or edit access to their presentations and allow users to upload or download content, and even set expiration dates to end their access; Glide Write beta, with new features including advanced document formatting and templates as well as the ability to post Glide Write documents not only to Glide Blogs but also to major third-party blogging services; Glide Spreadsheet beta, simultaneously released in local desktop and browser-based versions and will support spreadsheet functions including advanced formulas and macros; and Glide Mobile, with added support for the Motorola Q, RIM BlackBerry 8700c/g, T-Mobile SDA, Palm Treo 700p, Palm Treo 650, Samsung SPH-I730, O2 Xda IIs, Blackberry 7100 Series, Sony Ericsson P900, HP iPAQ h6315, Kyocera 7135, Audiovox SMT560, Audiovox PPC 6600 Pocket PC, Motorola MPx220, Motorola V276 and the Motorola E815 EV-DO in addition to the already supported Palm Treo 700w, Sony Ericsson W600i and Motorola RAZR V3.
