Agendus Headed to Windows Mobile |

One of the most popular personal information managers (PIM) for the Palm OS has been iambic's Agendus over the years. With many users of the formally dominant wireless platform moving to Windows Mobile, in addition to Palm, Inc. now in the Microsoft-based Treo business, the developer says it is now time to create a Pocket PC version of the software.
According to iambic's support forum, an open beta program for a Windows Mobile edition of Agendus will launch by the middle of December. Those interested in taking part can sign up to be notified via e-mail when it starts here.
iambic asserts version 1.0 of Agendus for Windows Mobile will offer "a good amount of the functionality (including category colors, pictures, icons, custom edit dialogs)" available with the Palm OS edition. As with the current version, it will ship in Standard and Professional editions.
But only for Pocket PC PDAs and handsets (devices with touch screens) at first. A Windows Mobile for Smartphone is slated to arrive at a later date.
Pricing is yet to be determined and incentives and discounts for current Palm Agendus owners and users of similar Windows Mobile PIM applications are being considered, iambic says.
Also, when the beta program starts that's when the software will go on sale for the "fearless" who take part in the beta program. Those who buy at that time will get a substantial discount off the final manufacturer suggested retail price.
