Odyssey Software Introduces Version 1.5 of the Athena Device Management Suite Add-In for Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 |

Providing Enhanced Provisioning and Remote Access from the Microsoft Systems Management Server Administrator Console to Remote Devices Running Odyssey Software's Athena
Odyssey Software, Inc., a provider of advanced mobile-device management solutions, today announced the release of version 1.5 of its Athena Device Management Suite (ADMS) add-in for Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003.
This newest release is designed to enhance Athena's focus on device management over Wireless Wide Area Networks (WWAN) and other low bandwidth networks. Version 1.5 includes enhanced, fully automated "over the air" provisioning, a higher performing remote control service, a new automated connection manager and additional features for live, interactive troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of devices in the field.
The Athena add-in for Microsoft SMS provides helpdesk and IT personnel with direct, seamless access from the SMS Administrator Console to remote Microsoft Windows Mobile- and Windows Embedded CE-based devices running Odyssey's Athena Device Management Suite. No proprietary servers or consoles sit in between devices running Athena and Microsoft SMS Site Servers, providing a direct, highly scalable and secure path into Microsoft SMS.

As with previous versions, Athena provides broad device support for any device running Microsoft Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded CE. That includes consumer, rugged and Smartphone devices. With the Athena add-in for Microsoft SMS, the Athena client components reside co-resident with the Microsoft SMS Device Management Feature Pack on each remote device -- complementing the device management capabilities of the SMS Device Management Feature Pack.
Athena also includes an on-device XML Web services engine with a host of modular plug-in services that provide remote programmatic access to a wide array of on-device functions and capabilities, allowing IT professionals to build and run server-side scripts to automate diagnostic and repair tasks.
