|
Mio Technology’s latest incarnation, the DigiWalker P550, is now available in Canada. "Mio Technology's GPS expertise has fueled our rapid growth in the Pocket PC space worldwide,” enthused Kiyoshi Hamai, North American Sales Director, Mio Technology Ltd. “Our highly accurate, integrated devices are less cumbersome and more convenient than navigation add-ons for other handheld devices. The P550 comes pre-loaded with maps of Canada and the U.S., and more than 11 million points of interest (POIs), like restaurants, hotels, and gas stations. The full address and phone number is also stored for many of the POIs. Turn-by-turn directions are available both by voice and text, and in 16 languages. Multiple navigation modes are offered for driving, walking, or cycling. Using WorldMate digital assistant software, owners can download travel information for a city or country they’re about to visit, including traffic conditions, construction, and weather advisories. All functions can be viewed and accessed on the ample 3.5-inch touchscreen TFT LCD.
The device is compatible with Windows Mobile 5.0 software, and comes pre-loaded with mobile versions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows Media Player.
