Windows Mobile file compression app adds encryption |
|
Adisasta Software has released a new version of its file compression and archiving software for Windows Mobile devices. WinMobile Zip version 3 now supports viewing and extracting a wide range of archive formats in addition to standard Zip format, and also implements AES encryption, according to the company.
Adisasta says WinMobile Zip provices a user friendly multi-tab interface with intuitive single-handed operation using softkeys and hardware navigation buttons. Additionally a "distinctive dual-folder" design is said to make it easy to copy, move, extract, or compress files from one folder to another.
The software has built-in support for ISO, CAB, ARJ, LZH, GZ, Z, DEB, CPIO, TAR, RAR, BZIP2, CHM, RPM, and SIS formats, the company adds.
Touted encryption capabilities include both 256-bit AES encryption and standard Zip 2.0 encryption. Adisasta claims that WinMobile Zip is the first Pocket PC application to support the combination of Zip and AES. The included password manager simplifies password-based encryption and decryption by using a single master password.
WinMobile Zip version 3 is priced at $20. The .exe file is downloadable here http://www.adisasta.com/wmZip3/application/wmZip3.exe.
Adisasta is also the creator of WinMobile Torrent, claimed to be the "first and the only" BitTorrent client for Windows Mobile devices.
