Mobidia Appoints Chris Hill as Vice President of Marketing
New Addition to Executive Team Brings Extensive Product Management Expertise from Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Division

Mobidia Technology, Inc., (www.mobidia.com), a mobile video and service quality management company, announced today that Chris Hill has joined the company as vice president of marketing. Hill’s key role at Mobidia is to develop the product strategy, and build and manage a marketing team to drive broad market acceptance for Mobidia’s social video messaging application and mobile IP QoS platform. Hill will report directly to Mobidia president and CEO, Gary Tauss.

Mobidia enables wireless operators to deliver multi-way video messaging and social networking services with a high-quality customer experience. With Mobidia’s CUBuddy™ application, operators can provide real-time mobile video messaging services for up to 4 simultaneous “buddies.” Mobidia’s .wave software platform ensures that operators can maintain service quality end-to-end for CUBuddy or any next-generation IP service.

Hill brings more than fifteen years of technology marketing experience to Mobidia, with seven years of product management experience from Microsoft Corporations’ Windows Mobile product group - Microsoft’s product team responsible for its smartphone platform and mobile solutions. Prior to Microsoft, Hill spent many years in the IT industry and gained consultancy, engineering, business development, marketing, and international sales experience with Intellution, currently a division of General Electric.

“As users migrate to more sophisticated mobile phones, there is a real opportunity for carriers to increase revenue through innovative IP-based services,” said Hill. “Video messaging and social networking have wide subscriber appeal, but they create new service quality hurdles for operators. Mobidia’s technology solves these issues and enables a ‘big screen’ experience on a subscriber’s ‘3rd’ screen. I believe the company is in the right space, with the right platform, at the right time with a very talented team. Building a business and presenting new opportunities to carriers – and ultimately for millions of consumers – is very gratifying to me. I look forward to the opportunity to do this with the team at Mobidia.”

“Chris’ experience as a team manager and his track record of accomplishments in product management for mobile platforms and software makes him a distinguished asset to Mobidia,” said Gary Tauss, president and CEO of Mobidia. “He has a strong understanding of the drivers for next-generation messaging and social networking services among both carriers and end users, and his expertise in product execution will clearly benefit Mobidia’s future.”

Most recently, Hill was the group product manager of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Division, leading a product management team with primary ownership of the Windows Mobile platform for smartphones, PDAs, and smart-connected mobile devices. Hill drove triple-digit revenue and unit growth for over two years in this division while launching Microsoft’s first GSM and CDMA-based smartphones. Previously, Hill helped drive adoption for Microsoft’s Pocket PC products, increasing market share from less than 10% to over 60% of the global market. Hill holds a MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BSEE from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
