Pocket PC encryption app adds command line support |
|
Aiko Solutions has released another update to its storage encryption software for smartphones and Pocket PCs. SecuBox version 1.2 comes with command line support and "close integration" with Windows Mobile File Explorer, according to the company. SecuBox, which launched in March, lets a Pocket PC user create up to 10 secure storage areas on a device. Data written to this encrypted storage is automatically encrypted on the fly using industry standard AES 256-bit encryption, according to Aiko. Data read out is likewise decrypted provided the user enters the proper password. Aiko suggests that command line access to SecuBox is useful for automating repetitive tasks. An extensive set of command line options is said to provide "pinpoint control" over SecuBox's actions.
Also new with version 1.2 is a Japanese edition. SecuBox is compatible with an extensive range of Windows Mobile OS versions. These include Windows Mobile 6 Professional and Classic, Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC and Pocket PC Phone Edition, Windows Mobile 2002/2003/2003SE/2005, Pocket PC /2002/2003/Phone Edition, and Windows CE 3.0/4.0/4.1/4.2/5.0/5.2, according to the company. SecuBox for Pocket PC is currently available for around $40. A free 30-day trial is available on the company's website.
