New software release helps protect against identity theft with encrypted repository of website login details, access codes, PINs and other sensitive information which is vulnerable to exploitation for identity theft.
14th August 2007 - Steganos, the European leader in security and privacy software for both consumers and SMEs, has launched Steganos Password Manager 2007. It enables users to organise their website login details, PINs (personal identity numbers) and other identity information in an encrypted repository. This product is bundled with Steganos Security Suite 2007 and is now being released as a standalone product.
Using Steganos Password Manager 2007, users can easily create, encrypt and manage passwords on their PC and access them on their Pocket PC. The software can automatically enter passwords and user names into websites and provides feedback on how secure passwords are.

All passwords stored in a single encrypted list:
Users only need to remember one password to unlock the list, which is encrypted using the world’s most advanced encryption algorithm, the Advanced Encryption Standard with a 256 bit key. Data is encrypted in real time. Without the password, nobody can access the data.
User-defined categories provide a quick overview:
Users can classify passwords by categories, so that access details for online shops, forums and PINs can be quickly identified.
Password generator ensures passwords are secure:
Users can create highly secure passwords with a mouseclick. The most secure passwords use random codes but users can decide whether special symbols, numbers and upper and lower case letters should be used. The password generator indicates how secure a chosen password really is.
Software enables automatic log in at websites:
Usernames and passwords can be automatically entered at websites when webpages are visited. This feature is compatible with Mozilla Firefox as well as Internet Explorer.
Login made easy with drag and drop:
User IDs and passwords can also be entered into forms and websites using drag and drop.
Passwords made portable on the Pocket PC:
For easy access to passwords on the move, Steganos Password Manager 2007 can be used on Pocket PCs and easily synchronised with the home computer.
Space to store additional information:
Users can store additional information with each password, such as the best sales person at an online shop or customer service numbers for email accounts.
