PHILIPS LAUNCHES SPEECHEXEC MOBILE FOR PROFESSIONAL DICTATION ON THE MOVE |

Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) announced today the launch of SpeechExec Mobile – the mobile dictation software designed for the global business world. Professionals on the move no longer need to be in the office for their dictations to be typed up nor a laptop to transfer dictations to the transcriptionist. SpeechExec Mobile allows computer-free file transfer via SmartPhone or Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). This significantly speeds up the availability of written documents and the exchange of information in dictation-intensive industries such as the legal and insurance sectors. The new software strengthens Philips Speech Processing’s position as a provider of one-stop dictation solutions for professional users.
SpeechExec Mobile has been designed to make mobile dictation more convenient while increasing flexibility and mobility for its users. The innovative and easy-to-use software application automatically scans memory cards for dictation files and delivers them via e-mail or Local Area Network (LAN). E-mail recipients and storage folders on the LAN can be predefined on PDAs for automated delivery to facilitate the entire dictation workflow.

SpeechExec Mobile is compatible with MS Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0, the standard operating system for SmartPhones and PDAs. The application processes files recorded in the DSS and DSS Pro format. DSS Pro files provide crystal clear sound quality with minimal file size and are encrypted to safeguard against unauthorized access. Users can track files’ transmission from the outbox overview and store either a copy of the entire file, the delivery date or the recipient’s name.
SpeechExec Mobile provides a 1 GB microSD memory card together with an SD Memory Card Adapter Kit. Installation is quick and easy via the CAB file format and ActiveSync - the standard installation for SmartPhones and PDAs. The software has been designed for use with Philips Digital Pocket Memos with an exchangeable SD memory card, similar to the Digital Pocket Memo 9600 series.
