SureScripts (R) Announces RxNT as First Software Provider to Achieve 2007 GoldRx Certification Status
RxNT, the nation's leader in electronic prescribing, announced that it is the first company to achieve GoldRx (TM) Advanced Certification from SureScripts, operator of the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange (TM). RxNT is the first vendor to obtain this certification with the new, more stringent criteria put in place to qualify in 2007.

RxNT, the nation's leader in electronic prescribing, announced that it is the first company to achieve GoldRx( TM ) Advanced Certification from SureScripts, operator of the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange( TM ). RxNT is the first vendor to obtain this certification with the new, more stringent criteria put in place to qualify in 2007.

"It is a true accomplishment to achieve this advanced certification," states Randy Boldyga, President and CEO of RxNT. "RxNT has gone above and beyond the basic implementation of e-prescribing in physician practices by continually reaching out to our clients to inform and educate them about workflow and utilization of e-prescribing technology."

"RxNT has made my office more efficient," states Dr. Andrew London, Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology. "Fewer mistakes will be made as error and poor handwriting are no longer an issue. As pocket PC's become faster and more affordable, the prescriptions can be sent easily from the exam room or even from home without the annoying phone calls to the pharmacy. There is never a question of a lost prescription."

GoldRx Advanced Certification was put in place by SureScripts to recognize solutions that are truly advancing electronic prescribing by investing in the development and design of a workflow that maximizes the value of an electronic link with pharmacies. SureScripts has taken the 2007 GoldRx certification process to the next step by adding more rigorous standards than the previous year's requirements. RxNT is the first vendor to meet all of these standards simultaneously.

"SureScripts and many health IT experts believe that the electronic link between a physician and a pharmacist is the most critical and the most achievable first step toward broader healthcare interoperability," said Rick Ratliff, Chief Operating Officer for SureScripts. "For physicians making an investment in the safety of their patients, the efficiency of their practice and the quality of their own clinical decision making, GoldRx certification helps them know which software vendors are actually delivering on pharmacy interoperability and other critical levels of automation. We congratulate RxNT on becoming the first vendor to achieve GoldRx product certification for 2007."

GoldRx certification is based less on technical standards and focuses more on improving the overall quality of the electronic prescription process.

* Customer Education - GoldRx certified companies must raise awareness among their physician customers of the opportunity to communicate new prescription and refill information with pharmacists electronically.
* Proven Pharmacy Interoperability - GoldRx certified companies must make pharmacy interoperability part of every new client installation.
* Advanced Medication Management - GoldRx certified vendors must enable their application to receive medication history from community pharmacy and formulary/eligibility services from the payers and PBMs certified by SureScripts.
* Workflow Enhancements - An organization receiving GoldRx product certification has committed to meeting specific service level requirements related to operations of the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange.
* Demonstrable Expertise - GoldRx certified vendors must prove experience with the process of electronic prescribing by meeting benchmarks for adding new, "active" prescribers.
