Sona Mobile Holdings Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: SNMB), a leading provider of secure software solutions for gaming and entertainment, and the Daily Racing Form (DRF) have launched a new portal that will deliver DRF-branded content to its subscribers via mobile devices.
The new DRF mobile application, developed and supported by Sona, will allow racing fans to view DRF News Headlines, Full Stories, Entries, Results and Workouts as part of the initial mobile offering. These features will be part of DRF's free mobile application. Enhanced application features and content, such as alerts, messaging and blogs will be added at a later date and offered as a mobile subscription. Sona worked closely with DRF resources and partners, such as The Jockey Club to integrate various data points to the Sona Wireless Platform(TM). This will give people the ability to view DRF content in a rich format and on countless device types such as BlackBerry(TM), Pocket PC, Smart Phones and WAP browsers.
The Daily Racing Form will also be able to take advantage of key advances in the Sona Wireless Platform(TM) such as mobile advertising. This added benefit allows for advertising on mobile devices without interrupting the user experience like traditional web advertising.
"The launch of DRF's mobile application provides a new distribution channel for our racing content and will drive repeat traffic from our existing subscribers base," said Marc Attenberg at the Daily Racing Form. "We chose Sona as our partner for this initiative based on their leading server technology and experience developing mobile wagering solutions that are both exciting and engaging for the end users."
Shawn Kreloff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sona, stated, "As the leading provider of racing news and wagering information, DRF has a significant customer base that will benefit from the launch of this new mobile application. The future of delivering information to audiences, either data or video, is through mobile devices, including phones. Our technology makes it possible for our partners to offer mobile applications that work with most devices and systems, and most importantly are being user-friendly."
