WebMessenger, Inc., a privately held mobile unified communications company, today announced the acquisition of Apptix WebMessenger, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Apptix, Inc., by its original founders in a move designed to enable WebMessenger to focus exclusively on its longstanding strengths in mobile real-time enterprise communications and mobile business productivity applications and solutions for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Palm mobile devices.
WebMessenger solutions help enterprises leverage their investments in Microsoft LCS/OCS, IBM Lotus Sametime, and other enterprise collaboration platforms by extending the productivity gains made on the desktop out to mobile devices. Small businesses can also setup and manage their own private IM communities, providing collaboration tools to employees in fixed and mobile environments. WebMessenger's latest product, Message Alerts, continues to deliver a new paradigm in managing mobile communications in order to mandate rapid response, ensure corporate and regulatory policy compliance, and to reclaim quality of life for the mobile worker.
As follow-on to the organizational transaction, WebMessenger also announced the launch of its carrier-class presence and mobile real-time communications platform that enables the hosted deployment of large scale, geographically redundant wireless messaging services. Through global carrier, solution OEM, and reseller agreements, WebMessenger's service offerings provide partners with recurring revenue-generating, value-added mobile enterprise solutions.
Val Babajov, founder and CEO of WebMessenger, said: "I am confident that with renewed focus on our mobile software and services business, the full potential of WebMessenger in the exploding mobile business communications space can now be realized. The company has an expert management team that will remain intact, an outstanding engineering team, and a proven track record. I am looking forward to rapidly expanding the business as we seek to fully capitalize on the substantial basket of intellectual property created by our teams over the years."
The WebMessenger business will continue to be led by existing management: Val Babajov, Joe Naylor, and George Emilov. All WebMessenger technology development and business operations will continue without interruption.
