Free CRM Adds VeriSign EV SSL for Ultimate Data Protection

FreeCRM.com, the world's largest on-demand provider of SaaS CRM services with over 85,000 customers, today announced it is enhancing its offerings -- and protecting its customers -- by implementing advanced technologies designed to verify the authenticity of its Web pages.

To provide the most comprehensive protection of customer data, FreeCRM.com is deploying Extended Validation (EV) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates from VeriSign, Inc., the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world.

Adding VeriSign EV SSL protections to FreeCRM.com means businesses can rely on a proven safeguard against hacking into sensitive information stored online. FreeCRM.com is the first on-demand, or "Software as a Service" (SaaS), CRM provider to provide this level of security, effectively raising the bar for all other SaaS providers. More than 4,000 of the Internet's largest merchants and 90 percent of the Internet Retailer 500 protect their customers with VeriSign EV SSL Certificates.

"FreeCRM.com is blazing a trail for other SaaS providers to follow, providing the highest level of security and protection available," said Eric Stone, CEO of CRM ASP, Inc., parent company to FreeCRM.com. "In our industry, data protection is the most important issue for adoption of software-as-a-service. By working with VeriSign, whose globally recognized brand is synonymous with trust and security, we are demonstrating our commitment to safeguarding customer information online."

The new protection is available to FreeCRM.com's Professional Edition customers. When accessing FreeCRM.com services online, customers using the latest high-security browsers will see a green address bar -- an immediately recognizable signal that they have reached a Web site whose authenticity has been certified by VeriSign. That kind of verification is welcome in a time when hackers and e-criminals are setting up increasingly convincing fake sites to lure users into providing passwords and other information.

"We know that phishing and other schemes aren't limited to banks or retailers: any organization with information worth protecting is susceptible to fraudulent activity," continued Stone. "By deploying VeriSign EV SSL Certificates, FreeCRM.com is putting the interests of our customers first and setting a new standard for online security among SaaS providers."

As the most respected and trusted SSL authority on the Web, VeriSign is the EV SSL Certificate provider of choice for more than 4,000 online businesses, representing greater than 75 percent of the entire EV SSL Certificate market worldwide. In fact, more than 93 percent of the Fortune 500 -- and the world's 40 largest banks -- rely on some form of VeriSign SSL Certificate to meet their security needs.
