Brother International Corporation to Showcase Expanded Line of Mobile Printers at Field Service East

Completes Acquisition of Pentax(R) Mobile Printing Business

Brother International Corporation, a worldwide leader in business printers, announced today that it will be exhibiting its recently expanded line of ultra-portable mobile printers at Field Service East, scheduled for September 9-12 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA. Brother recently expanded its mobile printing solution offerings through the acquisition of Pentax's mobile printing business. The company now offers the PocketJet(R) line of full page wireless mobile printers in addition to Brother's MPrint line of small format wireless mobile printers, giving the company an industry leading full suite of mobile printing solutions ideal for the field service industry.

"This newly enhanced, full line of wireless mobile printers gives Brother customers the flexibility to print on demand, in the field, for an even wider range of applications," said Brother's Director of Business Development Ravi Panjwani. "Now customers can select from a full Brother(R) product lineup for their mobile printing needs -- the MPrint printers for output up to 4"x6", and the PocketJet printers for printing up to legal size. This recent acquisition of the Pentax mobile printer division reflects our commitment to becoming the leader in mobile printing."

Brother's full line of MPrint and PocketJet mobile printers help increase workforce productivity by allowing users to print on demand in the field from mobile handhelds or rugged laptops, while reducing errors that can result from hand transcription. Ideal for all industries, the highly reliable lineup of mobile printers are used to print work orders, repair estimates, maintenance reports, invoices, collection receipts, delivery receipts, citations, parking violations and more.

The MPrint small-format mobile printers produce professional-quality, 300 dpi output on A6 and A7 cut sheet paper or 2-ply carbon copy sheets. The three different MPrint models include:

-- MW-120: A7 (3"x4") paper, USB, IrDa and Serial
-- MW-140BT: A7 (3"x4") paper, USB and Bluetooth
-- MW-260: A6 (4"x6") paper, USB, Bluetooth, and IrDa

The MPrint line works with a wide variety of operating systems and prints from Panasonic Toughbooks, Windows(R) notebook and tablet PCs, and Windows Mobile(R), BlackBerry(R), and Pocket PC PDAs and Smartphones and can be easily integrated into vertical applications using its software development kit. Their compact size, light weight design, ease of use, internal paper cassette and variety of output media make them a perfect fit for the following markets and applications:

-- Field Service: Field service technicians in telecom, HVAC and healthcare markets print work orders, repair estimates, maintenance reports, collection receipts and drug test results on site and on demand.
-- Route Accounting: Route sales and pre-sales representatives print delivery receipts or route invoices right at point of transaction.
-- Public Safety: Public Safety officers print citations or parking violations on the spot without having to go back to their vehicles.

The PocketJet mobile document printers feature 200 and 300 dpi output and full page thermal printing for those applications requiring letter, legal or A4 size paper. The four different PocketJet models include:

-- PocketJet 3: 200dpi, USB, IrDa
-- PocketJet 3 with Bluetooth: 200dpi, USB, IrDa, Bluetooth
-- PocketJet 3 Plus: 300dpi, USB, IrDa
-- PocketJet 3 Plus with Bluetooth: 300dpi, USB, IrDa, Bluetooth

The PocketJet line works with a wide variety of operating systems including Windows(R) 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, CE, Symbian EPOC, Mac(R) OSX, Linux, Palm OS(R), and Pocket PC(R). Their reliability, ease of use and vehicle mounting capability make them an ideal fit for the following markets and applications:

-- Field Service: Field Service technicians in construction, telecom and insurance markets print full page work orders, repair estimates, site surveys and insurance claims.
-- Route Accounting: Route sales representatives print full page invoices, delivery receipts and reports in or outside of vehicle.
-- Public Safety: Public safety officers print citations or parking violations in vehicle.

The unique, compact MPrint design, along with the full-page PocketJet 3 and 3 Plus printers, demonstrate Brother's continued commitment to offering innovative, affordable and easy-to-use printing solutions for the mobile workforce.
